Mother Daughter Tea Party

Today we attended the Mother Daughter Tea Party with Girl Scouts. It was such a cute event and I loved the idea. All of girl scouts was invited to attend and there was a pretty good turn out for the event. You were supposed to dress fancy! Lillian and I were really looking forward to getting all dressed up for this day and being fancy together. The only draw back was wearing a formal dress in the middle of winter. I know it is supposed to be spring, but 33 degrees with a chance of snow doesn't feel like spring to me. Rich keeps telling me it isn't that bad, but he wasn't the one in the dress! HA!

Lillian and I had a great time enjoying our tea, finger sandwiches and cookies. I think she skipped the sandwiches and went straight for the cookies! She enjoyed those little delights! We were able to spend some time together and that is always nice. She even made me a card. Lydia really wanted to come too and kept saying, "Mommy, me come?" That breaks my heart! One day she will be a girl scout too!

All the moms today...you looked fabulous!! All the girls today...you looked marvelous!!

Love you Lillian and thanks for the afternoon!

Spring Break Texas or Bust!

We hit the road for Spring Break in Texas on Friday, March 11th. Lillian had school that day, but early dismissal. So, we hit loaded in the car and made it to OK for the night. Then, we made it to Pflugerville, TX the next day! And all I can say is PRAISE HEAVENS FOR THE AWESOME WARM WEAHTER!! You all know how much I enjoy the sun!

We had such a wonderful time staying with our amazing friends! Lillian and Lydia were thrilled too! We stayed with Nina, Ronnie, Veronica and Alyssa for the week. It was a joy to have eight of us in one house and like Nina said, "We have 2600 square feet and why is everyone in my bathroom?" Good times!

We started the week off with the Austin Rodeo and Carnival. It was great to have the kiddos ride all the rides with their friends. Jessica, Jack and Lily came up to meet us there and the reunion was almost complete. We still were waiting on Wendy and the family! It was great to see the Jones Family again and everyone just picked up like we never left Texas. Back to cracking on one another and laughing loud!

We rode rides and Lydia latched right back on to Jack. That has always been her little boyfriend and she didn't forget him. Once Jack showed up, then she rode all the rides right beside him. Adorable!

We even got to see Big Time Rush in concert! We thought the tickets were for the rodeo and then Big Time Rush from 3:00pm to 5:00pm ,but nope! The rodeo lasted for two hours and then they came on stage. We learned a lot about bull riding that day and I think Nina and I could definitely ride one now...we just need the chaps! HA! The girls loved the concert and I was amazed at all the screaming little girls. Now, we have had two concerts under our belt with the King Family!

We also made it to the Children's Museum in Austin. Wendy and the Family finally made it and it was awesome to see them. The girls were adorable and have grown so much. Just like with the other families we just picked right up where we left off. It is amazing how we have all stayed close through the move. Nothing changes and all the laughter, jokes and stories stayed the same!

We even had time for Hoppin Hippos, playing in the park and picnic lunch and having dinner with Nina's family. I adore her family and they are like my own. Her mother couldn't get over how big the girls have gotten. Nina had to share all her stories about Lydia from the week. How many are there? Well, Lydia hits, beats up on the big girls, acts like a shark and tries to chase them around and bite them, etc. Get the picture? But, her favorite? Lydia always says, "Mommy doing? Why? What happening?" Nina just laughed and laughed at her and I know she will skype with Lydia soon just to get a good laugh!

All the girls played from sun up to sun down! Lillian enjoyed all her time with her friends and wouldn't sit down for one minute. She soaked it all up! They were amazing and played so well considering how much sleep they actually got in TX.

We even got to have adult time! Nina got a babysitter and we all went to the Melting Pot for cheese and dessert! Nina took me out for my birthday and it was awesome. I haven't been to one of those in years and I ate my weight in cheese and chocolate. Thank goodness we worked out all week! UGH! But, I wouldn't change a thing! It was a fun night and everyone had a great time!! She even took my shopping....did we find anything? Nope! Her husband jinxed us on the way out- Have a good time shopping! MAN OH MAN! But, we made up for it later! :)

And we tried to catch our leprachaun this year too at Nina's house! We made our catcher, left our glitter and note. But, we only got a little sock! He told us to try again next year...do you think we will catch one?

We also had a sleepover at Wendy's house for our last night in time. We had a pizza party and yummy cupcakes for my birthday. Everyone spoiled me rotten with gifts! Lily, Lillian, Kendall, Caitlyn and Abby all slept together. They finally made it to sleep at 11:00pm after playing all day, jumping on trampolines, and enjoying the fun. We all had breakfast together and it was time to say good bye.

This was the hard part! It is hard for me to watch Veronica and Lillian crying. No one wanted to leave and we all had to take a deep breath and say good bye. We so enjoyed our time in TX and can't wait to see everyone again. These girls are one of the best things in my life and keep me smiling. You guys are a treasure in my life and couting down to we see you again. And Veronica- it will be summer soon! And Lillian keeps telling me she doesn't like the cold (where did she get that from?) and Lydia wants another pink bath with Aly!!!

Love you all so much and more!!!

Dental Poster Contest Winner!

Out of 185 posters from three elementary schools on Fort Leavenworth, Lillian's poster was chosen as 1 out of 40 poster winners! The children were asked to make a poster relating to dental hygeine. Lillian won from Kindergarten along with her friend Alyssa for Bradley Elementary. It was just a proud moment for Lillian and me too! :) She worked hard and came up with the idea all by herself.

A small awards ceremony was held after school today. The commander of the dental program on post presented all 40 winners with a certificate, tooth eraser and pencil and shook their hand. Lillian said she was proud of herself!

So, just another proud mommy bragging about their child. It never gets old!

Love you!
